Will Iranian missiles be pre-positioned overnight at Argyle military airport to point at the USA?

SVG is on a path to self-destruction, in that, the source of funds and technical support for the military airport at Argyle in St. Vincent is coming from the vicious triangle of Cuba, Iran and Venezuela. Unless the electorate of SVG votes out the political madness of the ULP at the next general election, military force similar to Grenada in 1983 may be used to prevent SVG from becoming a hot-bed for Cuba, Iran and Venezuela.

In 1983 Grenada was building an 'international airport' with the help of Mexico, Cuba and other nations. The airport was seen by U.S. President Ronald Reagan as evidence of "Soviet-Cuban militarization" and a potential threat to the United States and that the airport was to become a Cuban-Soviet airbase.

On 25th October 1983, the U.S. invaded Grenada to stop this threat of a military airbase. The U.S. forces encountered about 1,500 Grenadian soldiers and about 700 Cubans, most of whom were construction workers but were highly trained as soldiers.

The invasion sent a message to Cuba that they could only go so far in exporting revolution in the Caribbean without provoking an American military response. There were many civilians killed and injured. We do not want a similar scenario in our blessed country.

The positioning of Iranian missiles in SVG could provoke a development like the Cuban missile crisis. In 1962 Cuba was poor and allowed Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev to place intermediate-range missiles in Cuba to provide a deterrent to a U.S. attack against the Soviet Union.

The U.S. proclaimed that any missile launched from Cuba would be regarded as an attack on the United States. The U.S. saw the missiles as a threat and war was only averted when the Soviet Union agreed to U.S. demands that the Soviets remove all of their offensive weapons from Cuba.

There is a parallel with Cuba's poverty then and SVG's now. SVG is very poor after 7 years of the ULP regime's incompetent economic management. Iran and Venezuela with their wealth from oil can buy-out the ULP regime overnight and change Argyle into a military base harbouring Iranian missiles. The U.S. would see this as a threat and not stand for it. This could lead to serious consequences.

A Cuban, Venezuelan and Iranian hold over SVG will result in an unwanted culture of stoning to death as a form of capital punishment. Iran's Penal Code prescribes execution by stoning as the penalty for adultery by married persons. It even dictates that the stones are large enough to cause pain, but not so large as to kill the victim immediately. The majority of those sentenced to death by stoning are women. Amnesty International is calling for change.

The core problem in SVG is a weak economy managed by a clueless ULP regime leadership. A Green government will cut ties with Venezuela, Iran and Taiwan and strengthen our ties with the USA, Canada, the EU and China. We will build a top rate science university so that our population becomes highly skilled. We will also properly utilise our indigenous resources by building a strong multi-sector, multi-variable economy.
