REFERENDUM OR LITMUS TEST: RALPH'S LEADERSHIP... IS IT NOT A LIABILITY TO SVG?

SVG Green Party is of the opinion that the electorate saw the referendum 2009 as a litmus test on Ralph's leadership and concluded that his leadership is a liability to SVG.

The table below shows a comparative analysis between SVG General elections 2005 and the referendum 2009, resulting in a swing of thirty percent away from Ralph's liability leadership. The following table tells the story.

SOURCE: Electoral Report 2005 and Referendum results 2009. Analysis: Green Party

These seats can be won by any political party. *Seats not likely to be won by the ULP in the 2010/11 general elections.

The statistical table shows quite conclusively, all things being equal, most, if not all, of the ULP seats held in Parliament could be lost in the general elections 2010/2011.

Taking an in-depth analysis of North Central Windward constituency, of which PM Ralph Gonsalves is the incumbent, we observe a noticeable swing away from him of 15.10%. This is telling us that even Ralph Gonsalves can lose his seat in the next general elections. In spite of all the psychological confidence he tends to preach, the constituents are telling him and the nation, that PM Gonsalves' leadership is a liability to our country.

We see clearly that we have another glaring 1989 scenario in the making and only the SVG Green Party will make the difference. The electorate are asked to be aware of the fact that, it is crucially important that SVG Green Party is given the opportunity at the next general elections to represent them in the SVG Parliament.

SVG Green Party will always put the country first, as has been demonstrated in the 25th November 2009 referendum. We undoubtedly made the strategic difference in securing a solid 56% NO vote. We know that we will make a difference in rebuilding the economy and propelling the country forward.

We therefore seek the resounding support of the electorate through the length and breadth of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Wealth and jobs are what the people need. The ULP has been in office over 8 years and only created poverty and unemployment - totally the opposite of what the people want.

The people should feel proud of themselves for voting NO and stopping the possibility of communism and dictatorship. Together, we have overcome an important hurdle. Together we can overcome the next hurdle, by voting Green in the general election.
